Meet Zack Fisch-Rothbart, Head of Operations and Legal at Pequity

This announcement has been a decade in the making.

10 years ago, Zack encouraged Warren to move to the Bay Area, when they were college roommates.

3 years ago, Zack brought Warren on as a Product & Design Advisor to his company, CoHealth.

2 years ago, Zack was a groomsman at Warren & Kaitlyn’s wedding.

1 year ago, Zack cheered Warren & Kaitlyn on when Pequity was just an idea.

6 months ago, Zack helped the team build structure into a budding business, all while leading his previous company, CoHealth, through an acquisition.

Today, Zack is officially leading Operations and Legal at Pequity – taking our team, customer experience, and growth to new heights.

Put succinctly, we’re psyched to work with Zack.

In his own words:

In 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Pequity’s founders, Warren and Kaitlyn, in San Francisco. Warren and Kait are longtime friends, and while I was in the Bay Area on business for my own company at the time, Warren was hard at work on his laptop pushing some pixels around into what would eventually become the Pequity Pup.

What started as a spirited debate about “Pup vs Pooch”, led to a deep conversation diving further into common problems in the world of compensation.

As a founder myself, I saw immediate value in what Pequity was tackling. Especially at the early stages, most founders don’t have a structured compensation process to attract and retain their people. The longer it takes to implement strategy and process behind a comp philosophy, the harder and more costly it is to rectify these issues at scale.

When Warren and Kaitlyn peeled back the veil and revealed that these issues persist across companies of all sizes, I was flabbergasted at how many people were running compensation processes out of spreadsheets, email, and instant messaging.

I’ve always loved building structure out of chaos, and there is nothing more chaotic than duct-taping a bunch of tools together in the hope that everything won’t fall apart.

I was excited to join their journey at the very beginning as an advisor, supporting Pequity through my previous experience as a founder; helping the team with strategy, operations, legal, and more.

It’s rare to get the opportunity to build something great with close friends, and the more I worked with Warren and Kait on this, the more I realized how excited I was about Pequity.

I’m thrilled to be joining Pequity’s leadership team as Head of Operations & Legal and can’t wait to help Pequity grow from pup to powerhouse.

Zack is a 2x founder and TEDx speaker. He is the former CEO & Co-Founder behind CoHealth (recently acquired by Acto), through which he participated in the Creative Destruction Lab. In 2016, he was selected as one of the top 36 young entrepreneurs in Canada.
